JBL wants one more crack at John Cena before he retires.
This year will John Cena's final year in wrestling, and one man who has been present for a large amount of his time in the business has been JBL. Cena's first world title win came at WrestleMania 21, where Cena would defeat JBL, and the pair shared the ring several times after with the WWE title on the line.
In a recent episode of Something To Wrestle With, JBL discussed Cena's career winding down, noting that he wants one more shot at the 16 time world champion. JBL was initially asked if he would like another crack at Cena.
"Of course. Yeah, because I think the world of John and I was so happy that I was part of John's, formative career. I, again, I don't take any credit for anything. John did. John would be exactly where he is now with or without me. I'm just glad that I was one of the ones that was there at the start. But John's such a great guy. I mean, everything about him. I mean, the more you know about John, from his Make-A-Wish, what he does, to how he interacts with fans, to how he interacts with talent, what he's done for talent. I mean, it's just amazing. It's not going to happen, by the way. There's no absolutely zero talk of it."
JBL has remained ever present on the US independent circuit, recently recreating a previous spot where he hit Hornswoggle with a trash can. You can read more about that here.
