JD McDonagh Wants To Test Himself In A Rematch With Gunther For The Intercontinental Championship

JD McDonagh has his sights set on the Intercontinental Championship.

As part of the 2023 WWE Draft, McDonagh was drafted to the Monday Night RAW roster. Almost from the get go, McDonagh wanted to get into the faction known as Judgment Day. However, despite Finn Balor's assertions that he belonged in the stable, Damian Priest took much longer to be convinced.

On the November 13th edition of Monday Night RAW however, that would change as Priest would hand JD a jacket, officially adding him to the faction.

While speaking to Irish Wrestling and Entertainment, McDonagh was asked if the next step for him was to capture a championship in WWE.

"Oh believe me, that hasn't been lost on me and they all have mentioned it and I think that's the next milestone for me. I wanna make sure everyone in the Judgement Day are dripped out with Gold."

McDonagh was then asked about possibly squaring off once again with Gunther, this time for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. The pair have faced off previously in NXT UK, OTT and TNT.

"Listen, I know I've beaten WALTER (OTT Scrappermania 5) but GUNTHER seems like a different animal, he's another guy who's leveled up again. But that would be an interesting one to test myself and see if I'm as good as I was then."

McDonagh has had a rough week in the last seven days, as at Survivor Series he was the victim of a super RKO off the cage at the hands of the returning Randy Orton. He would then take another RKO from "The Viper" on Monday's edition of RAW.

Elsewhere in the same interview, McDonagh discussed the possibility of WWE bringing a Premium Live Event to Ireland.
