Given the fact that other stars have returned from neck injuries in recent years, many fans are optimistic about the future of Owens. On the latest edition of his My World podcast, Jarrett was also optimistic about the situation, saying that the days of instant retirement from neck injuries are nearly over.

“Kevin is one of those guys — he ain’t afraid to — he’s taken big, big, big bumps. I guess something happened in a recent match. Man, I hate that. If that’s the reality, look it’s never a good time, but what a disastrous time for all of this to go down. It feels like it was just yesterday and on the other hand, kind of like a lifetime ago where man, you have C3, C4, C5 surgery, you’re done. It is instant retirement, it’s over. But now, the advancements in the procedures and the technology and the healing and what they know and all of that. Have they given a specific diagnosis? My understanding is no, because that’s what I would kind of lean into, like what actually is the surgery? I do know enough to know that neck surgeries can be minor or major, I think that’s the easy way to say it. Man, what a hell of a performer. He puts his heart into this business in so many ways and has for years. Missing a Mania is huge for those guys.”

Then, Jarrett was asked about potential WrestleMania opponents for Randy Orton now that Kevin Owens is out of the picture.

“The internal options that I’m sure they are going through, let’s all put our heads together and figure out the best story, the best route, the best way to get there, who’s available, what’s going to make the most sense, who deserves the opportunity to step into the ring with The Viper. Who needs this opportunity — I kind of think from a brand, no matter what promotion, you kind of have to look through [and go], ‘Okay, Owens is off the board, who do we have on our roster that needs this kind of opportunity to take them to another level.’”

Elsewhere in the podcast, Jarrett said that the Owen Hart Cup Tournament is not the cards for him this year. Check out his full comments on the matter by clicking here.
