Jeff Jarrett previews his upcoming Lumberjack Strap Match with Hangman Page at AEW Grand Slam.
Jeff Jarrett said on the September 18 AEW Dynamite that if it were the last thing he did in his career, he would get his hands on Hangman Page. Now, he intends to use Hangman's threats of vengeance on the people who have crossed him against the former AEW World Champion, as AEW wrestlers will surround the ring with leather straps, and "Double J" intends on unleashing a great deal of pain onto Hangman Page.
Previewing the match on the most recent episode of his My World podcast, Jeff Jarrett admitted that while he's not likely to make Hangman bleed with the leather strap. However, breaking skin is possible at times. He claimed he would do enough damage that Page would wish he was in the ring with cinder blocks and syringes like he was at AEW All Out in his Steel Cage Match against Swerve Strickland.
"Let me just say, as diplomatically as possible, I heavily pushed for this," said Jeff Jarrett. "He wants to make his claim that he's going to go through everybody that stood in his way. I said, 'Hey, let's give this a real opportunity and just find out how big and bad he is.' As you can tell, over my right eye, he had a few live rounds last Wednesday night, and I felt it. Conrad, I'm walking in Philadelphia airport Thursday morning as me and Karen are headed to Highspots, and we're going through security. She looked because we were in the line, and she looked back at me, and now she had been with me, I don't know, since we woke up an hour and a half, and she did a double take. She said, 'Oh my God, look at your eye.' So it is quite healed. Here we are five, six days later, he caught me with a live round. He caught me with several live rounds in Wembley.
"I think it made the icing on the cake that I said it, no cinder blocks, no syringes, but man to man/ When you have the opportunity with a leather strap, I mean, Conrad, you can't really get a concussion. You can draw blood, but very rarely do you really need a stitch. But can you cause pain? You better believe it, and Conrad, I cannot wait for Wednesday night. It's going to be painful. If I got to take a little bit of pain, I'm alright with that, but I'm going to get to deliver some straps to his ass that he'll wish he had a cinder block and syringe in the ring with him when I get done with him."
Even though the match is being filmed on Wednesday night, it will air on Saturday as part of AEW Collision: Grand Slam. Check out the full card for that event here.
