Jim Ross has high praise for Ian Riccaboni and Nigel McGuinness.
Ross has been floating around All Elite Wrestling in recent months, doing commentary for Collision, Rampage, and various pay-per-views. Across all of those shows, Ross has gotten to work with new commentary desk members such as Ian Riccaboni and Nigel McGuinness.
On the latest episode of the Grilling JR podcast, Ross, who was re-watching the 2018 All In pay-per-view, praised Riccaboni and McGuinness.
“Ian does a great job, no matter what show he’s doing. Kevin Kelly is back now doing Collision with Nigel. Nigel does a super job, too. Very conscientious. Works hard preparing. Does a good job."
Ross went on to praise McGuinness more, saying that he's a great get for Tony Khan and that he reminds him of himself in a way.
“Nigel’s a great get for Tony Khan. Does a good job. We all dress in the same room, and Nigel’s diligent on his note taking. He reminds me of me, in that regard. Sometimes, you can take that shit too far. Nigel doesn’t, but he works hard at understanding the reason for a match and tells a beautiful story."
Ross also went on to state that he was very impressed with Riccaboni recently, noting that he's a really good young announcer.
"We were back together with Kevin Kelly and Nigel, and that’s always fun. I was very impressed with Ian Riccaboni. Really good young announcer."
