Jim Ross is looking forward to AJ Styles versus Shane McMahon.
On Tuesday's edition of Smackdown, McMahon declared he would face Styles at Wrestlemania 33 in Orlando, Florida. The match announcement came after two weeks of Styles being irate towards McMahon for decisions he made regarding the number one contendership to Bray Wyatt's WWE Title. On Tuesday, McMahon would walk out on the stage at the end of Smackdown and announce the match. In his blog, Jim Ross said the match should be great and thinks it has potential to be match of the night.
"Enjoyed the AJ Styles content on SD Live and am not one to take issue with AJ's booking at Wrestlemania versus Shame McMahon. AJ's greatness will shine through in Orlando on April 2 and Shane's alpha male personality will push him to be better than he likely actually is. This will end up being a better booking than many perceive; plus it was, as the creative worked its way out, the best available option for, arguably, the best in ring talent in the world, AJ Styles, which is a whole other story. I look forward to watching these two do all that's humanly possible to steal the show in Orlando," wrote Ross.
McMahon competed against The Undertaker at last year's Wrestlemania 32 and then appeared again in a Survivor Series match. The former WWE Champion Styles is looking for his first win at a Wrestlemania since he lost to Chris Jericho last year. Ross said AJ Styles does not need to be a complete villain for the match to have appeal because the issues between the two should be enough to elevate the match.
