Is Roderick Strong headed to WWE? Jim Ross certainly thinks that will be the case.
JR, the former lead commentator and at one time head of talent relations for WWE, wrote a new blog on his website over the weekend that predicted Strong will sign with WWE soon.
Ross praised Strong's match with Dalton Castle at an event called OklaMania in late July, describing it as "stellar.
"I expect Roddy to join WWE soon and he will be a great addition to their roster when he does," Ross wrote on his official website.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer echoed JR's thoughts, reporting that it is "pretty clear" that Strong will be WWE bound soon.
A fixture for Ring Of Honor for well over a decade, Strong's contract with ROH expired earlier this year. He also just made his final appearance for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla this past weekend at their 13th anniversary event. Strong is one of just three wrestlers to hold the world titles for ROH, PWG and Full Impact Pro. The others? Daniel Bryan, who is now the Smackdown general manager, and the currently injured Davey Richards.
Since leaving ROH, Strong also has wrestled for EVOLVE, which has had a working relationship with WWE for the better part of the past calendar year.
If Strong were to sign with WWE and go to NXT, he would be reunited with some of the most siginficant partners and opponents he has had in his career, including Austin Aries, current NXT champion Samoa Joe and Hideo Itami.
