Jim Ross: We Overexposed The Big Show In WWE, He Should Have Been An Attraction

Jim Ross comments on how The Big Show was used in WWE.

The Big Show (Paul Wight in AEW) made his WWE debut at St Valentine's Day Massacre 1999, jumping ship from WCW and aligning himself with Vince McMahon and the Corporation.

By the end of the year, Big Show was the WWF Champion, replacing Steve Austin at Survivor Series 1999 and winning the title in a triple threat match.

Speaking on Grilling JR, Jim Ross was asked about Big Show being included in the match.

"I thought all along that we had kind of mismanaged Big Show. I thought we overexposed him. He was an Andre The Giant-like commodity that should have been seen less to mean more, but we just went whole hog on that deal. I thought we overexposed the attraction. You didn’t see Andre getting overexposed. That’s how Big Show should have been booked, but he wasn’t," said Ross.

Big Show would hold the WWE Championship from Survivor Series 1999 to the January 3, 2000 episode of WWE Raw.

Big Show has won titles in WCW, WWE, and ECW. He is currently signed to AEW.
