Jimmy Havoc Talks Putting Himself Through Pain In Hardcore Matches: "I Am Just A F***ing Idiot, That S**t Actually Hurts"

Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy fu****g Havoc!

The 5'10 Engishman Jimmy Havoc may not be a wrestler who catches eyes with his physical appearance but he goes to the max whenever he steps into the ring. Jimmy Havoc is a former PROGRESS World Champion and eight title changes have happened since he last held the title but he is still the longest reigning PROGRESS World Champion in the promotion's history with 609 days under his reign.

Havoc is also known for putting himself through hell in Hardcore matches. Jimmy Havoc is never shy about shedding blood in the squared circle when its time to turn the extreme on and he explained his stance on those type of matches while being interviewed by the Daily Star. The two parties discussed Jimmy's Barbed Wire death match with Sami Callihan that took place at today's IMPACT vs. U.K. show which was streamed live on Twitch. The interview took place before the match happened and Jimmy explained what he looks to do in matches like the one he competed in today.

“I like to creatively use my environment to my benefit - I am not the biggest guy in the world, but I will take a f***ing kicking." He said. "I will find anything I can that is in close proximity to hurt you. The match is going to be a wrestling convention. I will have to see what I can find, but I am sure there will be lots of eight by ten photos I can do paper cuts with.”

At the end of Jimmy Havoc's hardcore matches he normally has to pour lemon juice on his open wounds to accelerate the healing process. Havoc simply stated that his job as a wrestler is to make things appear as if they hurt without actually hurting himself but as he put it, he's an "idiot" and wants to put on matches that have earned him many titles such as the Defiant Hardcore Championship.

“That really sucks. I try to justify it to myself as 'cleaning the wound'. But I think I am lying to myself at this point." He continued, "The pain isn’t part of the job. The job is trying to make it look painful without it being painful. I am just a f***ing idiot - that s*** actually hurts.”

As mentioned, Jimmy Havoc and Sami Callihan went to war in the main event of the IMPACT vs. U.K. show and to read about who emerged victorious in that match, check out the show results that are published here on Fightful
