When Joe Hendry walked through the curtain at WrestleMania 41 to take on Randy Orton, he was one step closer to his ultimate dream match.
Joe Hendry has been making a name for himself for years on the independent wrestling circuit, but this last year in particular has seen Hendry fly to even greater heights. The surprise matchup with Orton at WrestleMania was the icing on the proverbial wrestling cake. At that same WrestleMania, John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes to win his 17th World Championship and he did it with the help of musical artist Travis Scott.
Now, Hendry says, the timing is perfect for a matchup between the TNA World Champion and the WWE Champion. Perhaps each could even have a cornerman. Or a tag team partner. That's what Hendry recently told Ariel Helwani on The Ariel Helwani Show, when asked about a potential matchup with John Cena.
You know the match I’m going for (against John Cena). It now makes more sense than ever. This is all I’m going to say, he’s got Travis Scott in his corner. Can you imagine if a huge star in music just reached out to Joe Hendry, someone in the same ballpark as Travis Scott, reached out to Joe Hendry and said maybe they might want to start backing me. That’s all I’m saying. Maybe it’s the same genre as Travis Scott. It’s all just thoughts and rumors. Did that happen? Maybe it did, maybe it didn’t. Did this person say that I could go to one of their concerts...I’m going to stop there," Hendry said.
Who could the person be? Only time will tell but maybe, just maybe, if we say their name loud enough...
