The Miz can see John Cena, unlike everyone else.
On the September 4 episode of WWE Raw, The Miz hosted Miz TV and revealed that John Cena was his guest. He made it clear that he hoped Cena would be transparent about his actions at WWE Payback, where he served as the special referee for The Mi's match against LA Knight. Knight ultimately scored the hard-fought win.
The Miz called Cena to the ring, and nobody came to the stage. However, the camera followed "Cena" to the ring, and the broadcast team noted that nobody could see him. The Miz proceeded to question "Cena" about what happened at WWE Payback, and he accused the 16-time world champion of conspiring with LA Knight. The Miz claimed that had been the case, so his loss should be overturned.
The former WWE Champion then shoved "Cena," who apparently pushed back. The Miz dropped him with a Skull Crushing Finale.

The Miz then challenged LA Knight to a rematch, where there would not be a special referee, and he would show the fan-favorite whose game it really was.
