John Cena Shares Why He Looks Up To Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

Cena is passing the torch back.

Two men who have carried the WWE flag per say, John Cena and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson have a storied history inside of the WWE ring. The two superstars battled it out twice on "The Grandest Stage Of Them All"; once for the WWE Championship. As Dwayne Johnson has become one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood and Cena transitioning into a similar role, the two former WWE Champions can not seem to get rid of one another.

John Cena would reveal how much of an influence Dwayne Johnson is on him while speaking with The Wrap.

“The Rock is in a conversation by himself. He is an anomaly, he’s done unbelievable things in the world of sports and entertainment. There is only one man even involved in that conversation and it is him, he sets the bar rather high. It’s guys like that who not only work hard but use their platform. He is unbelievably gifted at using social media to spread the fact that hard work is how you achieve success,” Cena shared, “Hard work is also how you achieve significance. He inspires a lot of people. I don’t think he understands the depth of how much. He is someone I look up to, so if I look up to him, there’s no way we can be in the same conversation,” he said humbly. "I sat down with him and we shared a special moment long before I stepped into a ring. He gave me his time and he was very kind and candid in his conversation. It is something I will never forget."

Lately Cena's focus has not been on Hollywood and it has been on trying to get The Undertaker to answer his challenge to a match at WrestleMania. "Big Match John" has not found much success in his quest, but he did receive an answer of sorts from someone fairly close to "The Deadman". Head over to our RAW results from this past Monday to read who answered Cena's challenge.
