Jungle Boy Credits Joey Janela For Success, Talks Performing In Front Of AEW Crowd

Jungle Boy has emerged as a rising star on the independent scene and credits Joey Janela as a big reason for it.

Jungle Boy, real name Jack Perry, spoke to CBS and discussed a number of topics, including his upbringing and growing up as the son of the late actor Luke Perry. When asked about becoming a success and exploding on to the wrestling scene in the past year, he said he owes it to Janela for giving him the opportunity

Karrion Kross On Wyatt Sicks: There's Only Five Of You. Where's Number Six?

"You know, it’s been crazy. It really kind of was overnight. It just really blew up, and I really owe that to Joey Janela. You know I feel like it had been a while coming, and I just needed the opportunity that I was given, and I made the most of it. It’s been crazy ever since then. You know it’s been kind of like a whirlwind of this awesomeness," Jungle Boy said.

In recent months, Jungle Boy would go on to sign with AEW and get announced for PWG's Battle of Los Angeles, but even admits that he still gets nervous wrestling in front of crowd. Jungle Boy said he's more nervous performing on the same show as guys such as Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho.

"I always get nervous, because I want to perform well and all that. But this time, I’m actually more nervous about performing in front of Cody and the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho. I’ve performed in front of a bunch of people before, and obviously it’s an important event and all. But these are guys that I’ve looked up to and idealized, and now they’re going to be seeing me work, which is kind of intimidating," Jungle Boy said.

As for his next match, Jungle Boy will team with Luchasaurus and Marko Stunt to take on SoCal Uncensored at "All Out." Fightful will have live coverage of "All Out" from the Sears Centre Arena on August 31. The interview can be read at this link.
