Kagetsu will be wrapping up her career in 2020 as she announced her retirement on Dec. 25. Her final Stardom show is set to take place on Jan. 26. She will officially retire on Feb. 24 at a self-produced event.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Kagetsu's retirement is the result of a power struggle. Kagetsu, 27, was in charge of training the women and her style reportedly wore thin on people as she was fining those who showed up late and taking away personal time. Women on the roster reportedly went to management to protest her being in charge and she was voted out as trainer and locker room leader.
Kagetsu stated Stardom is in good hands with the current World of Stardom Champion Mayu Iwatani.
Hazuki, Kagetsu's top student, wrestled her last match on Dec. 24.
