Kalisto names his biggest regret in his entire WWE tenure.
Throughout his run in WWE, Kalisto was known for many good Lucha things. Among them, runs with the United States Championship and the NXT Tag Team Championship.
However, following his release from WWE earlier this year, Kalisto is reflecting on some of his regrets in the company and says the biggest of his regrets involve a dream match against Rey Mysterio that would have potentially seen him lose his mask.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Kalisto revealed that he had an idea for a program with Rey Mysterio that would have involved a mask vs. mask bout. Kalisto says that while he received the blessing of Rey Mysterio, Dominic Mysterio, and many others, he regrets never pitching the idea to Vince McMahon
"My biggest regret is not pitching my idea to Vince. Pretty much the whole world knew except for Vince. [I wanted to do] a mask vs. mask match against Rey Mysterio. I had Rey's blessing, Dominik's blessing, everyone's. They all loved it. I showed it to Paul Heyman too. Paul said 'This is genius, do it.' I was like let's do this! It's just such a good story, it's my biggest regret not talking to Vince about it. Right before I was going to, I got released."
Furthermore, Kalisto says he had a plan to further the story beyond losing his mask. Kalisto says he was prepared for anything.
"I was prepared for anything, I had such a great story that nobody would have expected. So for Paul Heyman to say that's genius, I got something. The writers, everyone loved it. I even showed it to Daniel Bryan and Edge, they loved it. But it's my own fault. I should have gone [to Vince]."
