Kane Kept His Crown Jewel Commitment Due To WWE's Donation To Knoxville Public Safety Foundation

Kane was not going to break his commitment after WWE's generous donation.

Taking part in a Reddit AMA, Kane was asked why he appeared at Crown Jewel in November following news that the Saudi Arabia government had been linked to the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Kane wrote, “Because WWE donated $100,000 to the Knoxville Public Safety Foundation which was arranged long before the controversy. I made a commitment to our local first responders and I wasn’t willing to break that.”

When he isn't donning the mask of Kane, Glenn Jacobs serves as the Mayor of Knox County. WWE donated $100,000 to the Knoxville Public Safety Foundation prior to Crown Jewel in order to secure his services for the event.

Kane's answer coincides with the answer given by his office prior to the event. His office sent out a memo amid the controversy saying, “Mayor Jacobs is still going to the Crown Jewel event because he made a commitment to not only the WWE, but the Knoxville Public Safety Foundation and the first responders of Knoxville and Knox County.”

Kane appeared in the main event of Crown Jewel, teaming with the Undertaker to face Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker. It's his last WWE appearance to date.
