WWE has released Katrina Cortez.
Fightful reports that Katrina Cortez was released by WWE on November 4. Cortez signed with WWE in August 2019. Her first television appearance came on the November 4, 2019 episode of WWE Raw where she appeared as Carolina and teamed with Sin Cara in a loss to Zelina Vega & Andrade.
She returned to NXT after the match, but didn't return to television until the January 15, 2020 episode of NXT where she competed in the NXT Women's Title #1 Contendership Battle Royal. She returned to the main roster to work WWE Main Event matches, now using the name Catalina, and losing to Asuka and Bianca Belair.
Recently, she's been regularly featured on 205 Live. She last wrestled on the October 29 episode of 205 Live where she lost to Sarray.
On Friday, Katrina posted the following statement:
•Everything I did, I did with love. Thank you for giving a 19-year-old girl the opportunity to fulfill her dream, to be the first masked woman, the first Chilean, and to represent Latinos/Hispanics.
