Kay Lee Ray hopes WWE integrates intergender wrestling on a more regular basis.
The NXT U.K. star spoke with Give Me Sport ahead of NXT U.K. TakeOver: Cardiff later this month and took some time to discuss her thoughts on intergender wrestling, something that isn't seen all too often on WWE television. After having wrestled in some intergender matches throughout her career on the independent scene, Ray said she would like to see that kind of wrestling being showcased more it WWE.
Only a few intergender matches have been televised in WWE for years, but aside from a couple female wrestlers, such as Chyna, Nia Jax and Becky Lynch, squaring off in the ring against men, men vs. women matches are virtually nonexistent.
"As a few people already know I've tried my hand at a few intergender matches over the past few years, so I think progressing to something like that would be fantastic," Ray said. "I do hope it happens sooner than later and of course the girls are taking stuff just as good as they give so hopefully that happens soon."
Seth Rollins also gave his take on intergender wrestling, saying that it may take some time to make that a reality should WWE go that route. Rollins' comments can be read at this link.
While Ray hopes for more intergender wrestling in the future, she will have her hands busy on August 31 when she takes on Toni Storm for the NXT U.K. Women's Championship. Fightful will have live coverage of NXT U.K. TakeOver: Cardiff, taking place at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, Wales.
