Kazuchika Okada pinned Hiroshi Tanahashi at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, The Elite (Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson and Kazuchika Okada) faced The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) and NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi. Tanahashi and Okada had plenty of history from their time together in NJPW. Okada evaded Tanahashi throughout the bout, while The Acclaimed eagerly took the fight to The Young Bucks. Bowens and Caster nearly had the AEW World Tag Team Champions beat on a few occasions, but The Elite proved to be too much of a well-oiled machine.

In the end, The Young Bucks took out The Acclaimed by diving onto them at ringside. Tanahashi evaded one Rainmaker attempt, but Okada drilled him with another try and clinched the win over his longtime rival.

When Okada went to attack Tanahashi after the bell, Billy Gunn ran in for the save. Tanahashi stayed down, and The Acclaimed and Gunn then helped him to the back.
