Kelani Jordan scored a statement win.
At WWE NXT Heatwave, Kelani Jordan defended the NXT Women's North American Championship against Sol Ruca. The two competitors were evenly matched early on, and the match was a stalemate as they leaned into their athleticism. Jordan dove onto Ruca at ringside, but the challenger hit Jordan with a dive of her own. Ruca flipped off the ropes with a clothesline and got a two-count.

Jordan fired up with a Poisonrana and dove onto Ruca with a moonsault at ringside. Ruca responded with another dive with her own that left both women down. Back in the ring, they traded pin attempts, and Jordan gained the upper hand. Ruca blocked a 450 Splash and went for the Sol Snatcher, but Jordan countered. Jordan dropped Ruca with an elevated Poisonrana. She then hit a split-legged moonsault for the win.
