Ken Shamrock has shared his thoughts on Daniel Cormier refereeing the upcoming Fight Pit bout at WWE Extreme Rules.
On October 1 it was reported by Ariel Helwani that UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier would be officiating the match at WWE Extreme Rules between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle. This will be the first 'Fight Pit' to take place on the WWE main roster, debuting on NXT during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A number of fans online petitioned for Shamrock to make his long-awaited return to WWE to serve as special-guest referee, an idea which he was open to, saying they'd have to change the name to 'The Lions Den.'
Seen posts about people wanting me to guest ref the Rollins vs Riddle Fight Pit… If so we’d have to call it the Lions Den -- Someone would have to let @WWE or @TripleH know --

Though he didn't get the call, Shamrock thinks Cormier was an excellent selection and hopes that the company continues to utilize him more in the future.
This is amazing, I’m hoping Daniel Cormier will have a role in WWE after this match #ExtremeRules https://t.co/K1UHoUgDVW

He concluded that if WWE wants him back he is sure they'd find a way, complimenting Triple H's booking decisions since taking over creative.
Hey he is a great choice! If the fans make it known they want me back i’m sure WWE will find a way to make it possible at some point. Triple H has had some great bookings
