Kenny Omega comments on his upcoming return.
On April 23, the Canada Life Centre announced that Kenny Omega would be appearing on the May 1st episode of AEW Dynamite. Omega's return was made official during AEW Dynamite when the company announced he would be in Winnipeg on May 1st.
Speaking on his Twitch stream, Omega commented on the announcement of his return.
"Big news, don't know if you guys heard it. Kind of surprised to hear it. I remember thinking about maybe, maybe showing up to Winnipeg. It was a maybe. It was really just a maybe. My sister, my parents, my aunt were like, 'Oh my goodness, we heard the big news.' 'What? What big news?' 'The arena is advertising your return.' I'm like, 'Come on, man.' I'm 80% on board, maybe. I don't know, man. I thought, 'Well, they advertised me,' that 80 (percent) becomes 100 (percent). I called the boss, 'Hey man, if you want to run a graphic or something, I guess I'll show up,'" he said.
Omega said he's been working as hard as he can in training.
On December 15, 2023, Omega informed fans that he would be out indefinitely after going to the hospital and being diagnosed with diverticulitis. Omega was scheduled to team with Chris Jericho at AEW Worlds End to face Ricky Starks & Big Bill for the AEW Tag Team Championships.
