KENTA: 'Give Me CM Punk'

KENTA’s been waiting a long time for this one.

As first reported by Fightful Select, CM Punk is in talks with AEW regarding a return to wrestling. CM Punk has not wrestled since the 2014 Royal Rumble event as he walked out of WWE the following night and has remained steadfast in his belief that that was the best decision he could have made for his life at that time.

When CM Punk began to break out as a single superstar in WWE, he started using the GTS, Go To Sleep, as a finishing maneuver. That move was popularized by KENTA in Japan and CM Punk has even admitted that he stole the move from KENTA.

Since then, KENTA has always been less than kind when speaking about CM Punk, and with the new reports that Punk is returning to the ring, KENTA is already calling his shot.

KENTA has appeared for AEW in the past, headlining a show where he teamed with Kenny Omega against Jon Moxley and Lance Archer.

Prior to the pandemic, another promotion reached out to CM Punk, that being his old home of Ring of Honor. Learn more here.
