Kevin Owens gives Cody Rhodes something to think about.
On the August 23rd episode of WWE SmackDow, Grayson Waller brought up Kevin Owens' past of betraying people when Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes appeared on The Grayson Waller Effect. Owens assured Rhodes that he would not do that to him, and he issued a challenge for a tag team match, which was confirmed by Nick Aldis.
In the main event, Rhodes teamed up with Owens, his opponent, at WWE Bash in Berlin, to face Austin Theory and Grayson Waller. Owens ultimately scored the win for the duo.

After the bell, Rhodes had his back turned, and Owens quickly walked up to him with the title. For a moment, it seemed like he was going to hit Rhodes. Instead, he handed Rhodes the title, but Cody was clearly doubtful following the brief tease. Still, he hugged Owens as the show came to an end.
