Kevin Owens is your new WWE Universal Champion.
Owens defeated Big Cass, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns to win the WWE Universal Championship on Monday's Raw when former WWE Champion Triple H interfered in the match, hitting a Pedigree on Rollins and Reigns. Owens picked the bones and pinned Rollins to end Monday Night Raw to "you deserve it" chants.
The elimination match was booked as former Universal Champion Finn Balor was forced to vacate the championship just one day after winning it at SummerSlam due to a shoulder injury. Both men hold the distinction of capturing the NXT and Universal Championships.
The 32-year old Canadian was receiving his first shot at a world title on WWE television, not including this year's WWE Royal Rumble match.
