Kevin Owens is slated to compete for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble, but missed a weekend live event due to injury.
After working the Hidalgo, Texas show Saturday night, Owens didn't work the second night on Sunday or the Monday live event in Corpus Christi. Owens was pulled off of the show so WWE could play it safe in regards to a nagging injury Owens had been dealing with.
Those that Fightful.com spoke to early Tuesday indicated that Kevin Owens is still set to compete at the Royal Rumble. Owens is booked to team with Sami Zayn to take on AJ Styles for the WWE Championship on the show.
Samoa Joe, Jeff Hardy, Big Cass, Paige, and Dean Ambrose are all currently sidelined, leaving the WWE Raw roster significantly hampered. As of right now, the Smackdown Live side of things is relatively untouched.
