Kofi Kingston Says Xavier Woods Is Unable To Compete In King Of The Ring Tournament On 5/6 WWE Raw

Kofi Kingston wants to win it for Xavier Woods.

The King of the Ring tournament kicked off on the May 6 episode of WWE Raw. Xavier Woods previously expressed his intent to compete in the tournament so he could win the crown for the second time. However, during a match against Gunther on the April 29 episode of WWE Raw, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion brutally attacked Woods' leg, and he apparently suffered an injury.

WWE revealed the Raw bracket for the tournament on the May 6 episode of WWE Raw, and Woods was not a part of it. Kofi Kingston is set to face Rey Mysterio in the first round. During a promo on Raw, Kingston said that this was supposed to be Woods' year to run it back, but he would be unable to compete due to Gunther's attack. Kingston noted that he was unsure how long Woods would be out, but he intended to win the tournament in his honor.
