Speaking on Keepin It 100, Konnan reflected on the ceremony, starting by saying that he wrote his speech three days before so it would help him memorize it. He noted that WWE gave him a speech writer, Bryan Yang, and that he was very helpful.

Konnan said he wrote roughly a seven-minute speech but was told he only had three minutes.

"I go, 'there is no way I can properly represent this fucking legend in three minutes.' The guy goes, 'let me see if I can get you five.' I'm thinking, give me five because I'm going to take seven. If I get heat, I get heat, I don't give a shit. I'm going to properly introduce my boy," said Konnan.

When asked if he met Triple H, Konnan said he did and that he was very nice.

Asked what that conversation was like, Konnan replied, "I don't want to get into it, but looks like we might have another conversation."

Konnan said his speech was a love letter to Rey and specifically requested the photo skinny Rey to be part of the speech so he could say, "This is what I had to work with."

Konnan stated that Triple H was one of many who complimented him on his speech.

He concluded by saying that he had an excellent time and that things during WrestleMania weekend were organized and professional.
