Konosuke Takeshita and Don Callis appeared on the January 23 episode of ROH on HonorClub in a backstage vignette to challenge Katsuyori Shibata to meet Takeshita in the Ring at Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Florida at AEW Collision: Homecoming.
Konosuke Takeshita said he wanted to prove he's the best Japanese talent in AEW.

The match was later made official for AEW Collision Homecoming.
