In the headlining match at NOAH The New Year, Kota Ibushi took on Naomichi Marufuji in singles action. The match was highly criticized by fans on social media, with many pointing out that Ibushi looked like he dealing with various injuries for the entire bout.

Ibushi took to social media on Friday, January 5 and apologized to fans for the bout, noting that he was scammed by a medical place called C5 Clinic. Ibushi also said that he expects NOAH to release information about his injuries.

“I was scammed by a place called C5 Clinic, which is spread all over the country, as I mentioned before. Take care of yourself, please. I think NOAH will release information about my surgery, fractures and dislocations, etc. I'm sorry for the match, everyone. It's all my fault.”
