Kurt Angle is glad that WWE is utilizing Chad Gable properly.
Chad Gable has often been compared to WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle over the years, as they both have backgrounds in Olympic wrestling. These comparisons have heated up in recent months, as Gable has been leading the American Made stable, which includes Brutus Creed, Julius Creed, and Ivy Nile, and fans have chanted "You suck" at him.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Kurt Angle was asked about facing Chad Gable during his last run in WWE.
“Yeah, that was when I was at my worst [laughs]. It was okay, but Chad made me look good. He did. Chad’s incredible. He’s a very talented kid. I’m just glad that they’re utilizing him properly. I know because he’s undersized a little bit, they didn’t know what to do with him, but this kid could be a world champion and be very marketable. Especially with the gimmick he has right now with the whole USA thing and ‘You suck,’ and everything where it’s like he’s like my son [laughs]. He should have been, yeah, but Vince McMahon had other ideas, having Jason Jordan be my son, which was ridiculous, but you know, that was cool [laughs]," Angle said.
Angle was also asked about the way that fans chant "You suck" at Chad Gable now. He noted that it was a term of endearment, whereas they initially chanted it at him because they thought he sucked. Angle said that fans were saying it because they used to chant it at him.
"I know, I know. It’s crazy because when they did it to me, when they first started doing it, it was because they thought I really sucked, and for Chad, it’s a term of endearment. So they’re saying, ‘You’re awesome,’ instead of ‘You suck.’ They’re just saying it because they used to say that to me," Angle said.
