Lee Moriarty reaches his first mountaintop in ROH.
At ROH Death Before Dishonor 2024, Lee Moriarty defeated Wheeler Yuta in a hard-fought contest for the ROH Pure Title. The match's deciding factor was the rules for ROH Pure Title bouts. Both champion and challenger would receive a warning for using a closed fist, and both men had exhausted all of their allowed rope breaks.
With both individuals' three rope breaks depleted, Moriarty countered a Fujiwara arm bar into a pinning combination and used the ropes for extra leverage to score the win. After the match, Wheeler respectfully placed the championship belt around his opponent's waist before shaking his hand.

This is Lee Moriarty's first championship in ROH. Wheeler Yuta was champion for 245 days. However, he spent a good five months of 2024 on the shelf due to concussion-related injuries.
