Lee Moriarty comments on Will Ospreay signing with AEW.
At AEW Full Gear 2023, Will Ospreay was revealed as AEW's new blockbuster signing. Ospreay is widely viewed as one of the top wrestlers in the world, and WWE had reportedly been interested in him. His NJPW contract had been set to expire in February, but Ospreay and AEW landed a deal. Ospreay will not fully join AEW until he finishes up with NJPW in 2024.
Speaking with Wrestle Inn, AEW/ROH star Lee Moriarty was asked to share his thoughts on Ospreay signing with AEW. He praised "The Commonwealth Kingpin" and highlighted the impressive year he has had.
"I think Ospreay is one of the best wrestlers in the world and 2023 was arguably his year as the overall best. Him coming into AEW means the competition level has been raised again. He’s going to have a lot of first-time matches that will be cool to witness," Moriarty said.
