Logan Paul says he's just getting started.
Paul is one of the most buzzworthy stars in the combat sports world. He has boxed Floyd Mayweather Jr. and faced Seth Rollins at WrestleMania. Additionally, he hosts the popular IMPAULSIVE podcast, and he is the co-founder of the PRIME energy drink.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso for Sports Illustrated, Paul discussed his success in his various ventures.
“It’s a combination of self-belief with a little bit of delusion. At first, I thought I was crazy. Eventually, that belief, it’s become reality, and I believe it–fully. That was the only way it could come true. With WWE and boxing, and really everything I’m doing, I’m very fortunate to have found something I like and that I’m good at. I’m only warming up," Paul said.
Paul also looked back on his boxing fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. The two stars fought to an eight-round draw in an unscored exhibition bout. Paul recalled how the fight proved to him who he was. Paul stated that it boosted his confidence and forced people to respect him. He went on to describe how the fight opened many doors for him, and the newfound confidence helped him grow.
“In a weird way, the Floyd fight proved to me who I thought I was. The biggest thing that surviving and thriving against Floyd Mayweather did for me was boost my confidence in a way that was so unfamiliar to me at the time. Think about it. People kind of knew me, but then I went toe-to-toe with the greatest boxer alive. So people had to respect that. Ever since then, so many doors have opened. Prime started. I got invited to join the WWE. The confidence that fight gave me made me turn into the man I always thought I would be," Paul said.
As of this writing, there is no word on when Paul will return to WWE.
Logan Paul will fight Dillon Danis at The Prime Card on October 14. More information is available here.
