Madison Rayne makes her intentions clear.
The field of 32 competitors is officially set for the 2018 Mae Young Classic tournament. The tapings will take place August 8th and 9th at Full Sail University. The tournament is star-studded with names like Io Shirai, Toni Storm, Sienna, Meiko Satomura and former WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn.
All 32 women will be looking to make their stamp on the WWE universe and impress with their in-ring skill and one of those 32 competitors was recently interviewed by TV Insider and discussed what she is aiming for coming out of the Mae Young Classic. Former 5-time TNA Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne who will be going by "Ashley Rayne" in the Mae Young Classic stated that she is 100% hoping to get signed by WWE and that begins with her winning the Mae Young Classic II.
“That’s 100 percent my hope. That’s 100 percent my goal. That’s what I’m training for and mentally preparing myself for because I think if you don’t go into something like this prepared to make it to the finals and to win the finals and watch your career take off in an entirely new direction, then you're short-changing yourself,” Rayne states.
The finals of the Mae Young Classic will take place at the Nassau Coliseum on October 28th at WWE's first-ever all-women's PPV 'Evolution'. Rayne was asked about the possibility of being in the finals and a name who Rayne would not mind clashing with for the right to call herself the winner of the M.Y.C. is a Fightful alum by the name of Deonna Purrazzo who inked her WWE developmental deal in May.
“If Deonna Purrazzo was standing across the ring from me, not only would I be an emotional mess the whole time, but I know we would give the WWE Universe a match that they’ll be talking about for years to come." Rayne shared. "Deonna is talented far beyond her years. I’ve been in the ring with her before, and I feel like she and I have great chemistry and would really be able to do something special on such a special night for WWE.”
Fightful has a article published which has the full list of names for this year's field of competitors in the Mae Young Classic. Also, spoilers from the M.Y.C. tapings will be live here on the site once the tapings commence.
