Mansoor has revealed why he cut his hair.
Mansoor used to have long locks, but cut his hair upon arriving to the main roster. The reason?
"I cut my hair because my dad saw a picture of Mustafa Ali and said, 'Hey, you're on 205 Live?'" Mansoor screamed as he took the Ring Fit Adventure Superstar Challenge on UpUpDownDown.
Mustafa Ali, who was also present for the challenge, yelled, "The worst part about it is, he really did cut his hair, his friends told me he cut his hair, and I told his friends to tell him that I also cut my hair and he got really mad, but I didn't cut my hair!"
Though the story brought laughter to the group, especially Xavier Woods, it's not a joke.
Mansoor provided more detail in an interview with Alistair McGeorge of Metro earlier this year.
"Of course, my entire career in WWE, I’ve always been compared to him, especially when I had longer hair. Literally, I remember doing commentary for 205 Live once – way back before the pandemic – and I was leaving the arena, and all the fans waiting aside were going, 'Mustafa Ali, yeah!' I was like, am I getting ribbed?’ OK, here’s the thing. At first it’s like, resentment, right? At first it’s like, these jerks, right? But then I remember, 'You know what, I’m gonna try this.' One time I sent a picture of Mustafa Ali to my dad and I said, 'Hey check it out! I got to Raw!' And he goes, 'Oh congrats, when was this?' So I was like, OK maybe it’s not just the fans. My own dad – to be fair his eyesight is maybe not as good as it used to be," he said.
Mansoor and Ali are currently a team on WWE and thanks to Mansoor's shorter hair, no one confuses them.
The duo teamed with Jeff Hardy on Monday's WWE Raw, losing to Veer, Jinder Mahal, and Shanky. If you missed anything from WWE Raw, check out Fightful's full report on the show by clicking here.
