Maria Kanellis-Bennett is thankful for those who fought for The Kingdom in AEW/ROH.

Many fans were surprised to see Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, & Maria Kanellis-Bennett when they popped up on an episode of AEW Rampage in October 2022. After the shut down of ROH, the trio had spent the majority of their time in IMPACT Wrestling as a part of the Honor No More faction.

While appearing on the latest episode of AEW's Unrestricted podcast, Kanellis-Bennett noted that AEW was always the goal for The Kingdom and that a few names pushed for the trio to be signed by AEW/ROH

“The goal was to always go to AEW as soon as the opportunity arose, and it did. I won’t give you too many specifics, but I will say that there were a couple of people that were really pulling for us, people who are what it means to be veterans in a locker room and they are what it means to fight for those guys that fought for you. To have that as your coming in, [it] felt so good.”

The Kingdom has primarily been featured on Ring Of Honor's weekly television show in recent months.

Elsewhere in the interview, Kanellis-Bennett revealed that Miranda Alize was supposed to join The Kingdom in the old iteration of ROH. Fans can learn more here.
