Mark Henry is coming back to clean up the locker room.
WWE Hall Of Famer Mark Henry last appeared on WWE programming during the 'Elimination Chamber' pay-per-view in February. Shortly after that appearance, Henry joined Sam Roberts' 'notsam Wrestling' podcast and went over a variety of topics including taking care of family, his time in the WWE and the current landscape of the company. Henry and Roberts came across the topic of what has transpired backstage throughout the time that Henry was gone. Henry shared that since there are no more veterans in the locker room that hold guys accountable for specific things, order has been lost. The former World Heavyweight Champion explained that none of that would've happened under his watch and further elaborated on some of the disorderly conduct issues that he was referring to:
“Me being gone this last year, there’s a lot of stuff that has happened in the locker room that would’ve never happened under my watch.” He continued, “Well people arguing and fussing about stuff. There’s been some… ‘disrespecting my wife or my girlfriend’ type of stuff. Like there’s been a couple of people [who’ll] be habitually late, in-which Vince [McMahon] hates. But he doesn’t have Taker or me. Booker is not there - only at TV. So the guys -- Big Show has been injured. So all the guys that hold people’s face to the fire is not there.”
Henry went on to state that Roman Reigns was getting to the point of being the enforcer in the locker room before he stepped away to battle Leukemia. Sam mentioned John Cena as a potential enforcer but Henry added that Cena was too busy for that role and after shows, the former 16-time WWE World Champion would be on his bus to the next town.
“Roman was kind of that guy. He was kind of getting there.” Mark continued by speaking about if Cena was the enforcer in the locker room, “No. John, he’s on his bus and off to the next place. He’s got so much to do. He ain’t got time but he will go, ‘Okay guys, the place is a pigsty. Don’t leave your trash’, and then you get the young guys; these young guys now, somebody told me that they asked some young guys to clean up and they were like, ‘Man, it ain’t my job to clean up’. That sh*t is going to come to an abrupt stop because I will be at all TVs, at all pay-per-views now, and this is really new. Like in the last two weeks and every pay-per-view it’s going to be issues with people in the locker room. We’re going to reestablish the leadership chain of command.”
Mark Henry also shared his opinion about the AJ Styles versus Randy Orton match at WrestleMania 35 and feels that it could be a headlining match for the "Show Of Shows".
