Masha Slamovich reflects on her match with Jordynne Grace at IMPACT Bound For Glory and looks forward to the rematch.
Slamovich went on a dominant run ahead of Bound For Glory, where she challenged Jordynne Grace for the IMPACT Knockouts World Championship. Though she lost the match, the buzzworthy contest garnered plenty of praise. The two stars will wage war again at IMPACT Over Drive, where Grace will defend the title in a Last Knockout Standing Match.
Speaking on The Angle Podcast, Slamovich looked back on her previous high-profile clash with Grace and stated that it was a Match of the Year Contender. She made it clear that she's proud of the match, though the outcome didn't go her way.
“Even though the match didn’t have the desired outcome for me, I am definitely acknowledging the fact that it was probably the best match of the night, and as some of the ratings say, the top-rated Knockouts match in IMPACT history, and certainly a Match of the Year contender. I am very proud of that match, and I think iron sharpens iron," Slamovich said.
Slamovich also previewed the rematch by noting that Grace will be stepping into one of her favorite realms when they clash in a Last Knockouts Standing Match. She stated that she enjoys playing with weapons, so Grace should prepare herself.
“I think that I’m stepping into one of my favorite realms, playing with all of the weapons that I very much enjoy. So I think Jordynne Grace better be the one thinking on ideas and preparing for the match," Slamovich said.
When asked to describe what winning the title would mean to her, Slamovich stated that it would solidify the progress she has made up to this point. She also teased that her next steps would be revealed following a potential victory.
“It would solidity everything that I’ve done. It will be another goal of mine reached. Then, after I become champion this Friday at Over Drive, my next steps will be revealed. Step by step, one thing at a time," she said.
