Matt Cardona On Chelsea Green's Performance At WWE Money in the Bank: She Didn't Go Over, She Got Over

Matt Cardona is very proud of Chelsea Green's performance in the 2024 WWE Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Matt Cardona was a WWE Superstar for over a decade. He is arguably finding more success today on the independent circuit, but his wife, Chelsea Green, is only beginning to shine in 2024 with each successful outing as she continues to Showcase her abilities as a vibrant on-screen character. Chelsea recently participated in the 2024 WWE Money in the Bank Ladder Match, and Cardona was backstage to support Chelsea in her hometown.

Speaking on the most recent Major Wrestling Figure Podcast, Cardona proudly stated that he believed his wife was successful in getting over at the event despite not winning the titular match. Cardona also explained why he doesn't like being backstage at WWE events or any event he's not getting paid to be at.

"I went to Money in the Bank to watch Chelsea Green. Chelsea Green, she didn't go over, but she got over. She took some extreme bumps. Great little spot. Chelsea, she wanted me to come backstage even though I really didn't want to, but she wanted to take a picture with me, her, and her mom. So John Cone, friend of the show, snuck us down real fast."

Even though he didn't want to be seen, Cardona ended up passing the merchandise stand, and now he has some souvenirs coming to his house. Cardona went on to explain that he feels that being backstage at a show where you're not being paid to appear may give off the wrong impression.

"I think it's the most pathetic thing in wrestling history to be backstage to be backstage at a show you're not getting paid to be at," he said. "I had a private suite just for me and her mother, and it was great. To be backstage, to me, screams [vomit noise]. Puke. Gross. Pathetic."

Overall, however, Cardona is very proud of the woman he calls his Miss Elizabeth.

"It was cool to be back there, but it was about Chelsea and her night and her moment, so I'm very proud of her. The fans seemed to enjoy it, as well."
