Matt Cardona is sticking with AEW for a short while, but he hopes it is for the long haul.
Recently, Wrestling Inc reported that Cardona (formerly Zack Ryder in WWE) is only working with AEW on a short-term deal.
Rick Ucchino was not only able to confirm that Cardona is on said short-term deal, but was also able to briefly chat with the former WWE Intercontinental Champion. Cardona said he wants to stay with AEW for a long time and win the TNT and AEW titles.
"Yes so there's a couple appearances, a few appearances right now but listen... I'm not here for a little vacation. I'm here to win the TNT Title, the AEW Title, to get all those action figures! I'm here because I want to be here. You know what I'm saying? So we'll get there. Just stayed tuned. Everybody just take a chill pill and relax and enjoy the show," Cardona said.
I can confirm that Matt Cardona's contract with #AEW is, in fact, a short term deal. "@WrestlingInc report"

However, he expressed to me that he's not there for a short term stay. He wants to be in AEW long term and has major goals in mind.
Story coming to @SKProWrestling soon!
Cardona's in-ring debut will take place on the August 5 episode of Dynamite, where he will team with Cody to take on Dark Order members John Silver and Alex Reynolds. Fightful will have live coverage of Dynamite on August 5.
