Matt Cardona Says He Has Bookings Through November

Matt Cardona is living his best life outside of WWE.

Cardona was released by WWE in April 2020 and has made the most out of his life outside the company, appearing on AEW television, IMPACT television, winning the GCW World Title, and now holding the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship.

Along with appearing for top companies, Cardona is one of the most active independent wrestlers on the scene.

Speaking to SLAM in an interview done ahead of NWA Crockett Cup, Cardona said that his schedule is almost filled up through 2022.

“I love it,” he said. “Sure, I get tired sometimes, but this is what I signed up for 20 years ago. Because I love it. And I’m going to do it as long as I can. Most people, when they get released from WWE, they fade away to obscurity,” he observed. “But I would argue that my value is higher than it’s ever been before. Right now, it’s the middle of March, and I’m already taking bookings through November, I’m almost already booked for the year. So I feel that my stock is at an all-time high, and I’m going to continue to ride this wave.”

Along with his success in the ring, Cardona has built a toy and podcasting empire with Major Wrestling Figures.
