Matt Hardy comments on the issues between PCO and TNA Wrestling.
At The People vs. GCW, PCO smashed the TNA Digital Media Title and started speaking on the microphone to air his grievances with the company. He would follow up with more statements on social media.
TNA subsequently removed PCO from the roster page on their website (while not visible, the page is still available if accessed via a Google search). They also had Steph De Lander, who was involved in a romantic storyline with PCO, re-introduce the championship on television, claiming that she won the title in the divorce from her storyline husband.
Matt Hardy commented on the issues between PCO and TNA on the latest episode of his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast. Hardy said that he always got along with PCO, confirmed the TNA was blindsided by PCO's actions, and thought the ongoing issues were unfortunate.
“I didn’t know all of those inner details, I didn’t know his contract was up," he said. "I mean, it was my first time working with him. Myself and Jeff had a match against him and Sami at the TVs in Atlanta. It was the third night after wrestling a TLC match, a tables match night two, night three was against Sami Callahan and PCO. He was very interesting to talk to, I’ve always been friendly with him, we’ve always exchanged pleasantries, said hello. But to actually sit down and talk shop with him was interesting, he has an interesting mindset of how his thinking was and whatnot. We had this match with him, everything went well, there was one spot in the match where I think he was a little bit rocked and some stuff was trimmed out of it. Everybody wanted to make sure that he was good and that he was okay and he seemed to be afterwards.
"All of this stuff about having issues with TNA and contract stuff, I didn’t know his deal was up, that was all new to me," he reiterated. "Just the fact that he has been in TNA and they have put him in a pretty nice relative spot. I know he did, he busted his ass on the show in Montreal, he did work hard to sell a lot of tickets, that was a big house and a lot of that was because of PCO. ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey helped out with a lot too, but you know, TNA is doing great events overall. Maybe that’s what he’s referencing, just the fact that he was an older talent, they were taking care of him, they kept him in a pretty good spot, it’s just so strange that you would be willing to throw it all away and take that chance. I don’t know what the issues were, so I can’t really speak on it, but the fact that he would take the title and smash it when he was actively working with TNA and they thought he was coming to these TVs. It’s very strange and I hate to see it when there’s these disagreements and whatnot, but it was quite the talk of the locker room towards the end of the night.”
