Malakai Black has seemingly finished up with AEW as Cope and Will Ospreay have alluded to his departure on television while speaking to Brody King and Buddy Matthews.
Fightful Select reported, "He's not going back to AEW. He's finished up with the company and was effectively written off with Will Ospreay's promo. He'd indicated to friends he wanted to head back to WWE in recent years."
Speaking on an Ask Matt Anything edition of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt weighed in on Malakai's standing in AEW.
“Extremely talented individual. Very unique, he’s a niche performer which really stands out. I mean, yeah, that would not shock me at all. That would not surprise me at all. I feel like probably because of Malakai Black and him being the leader, I feel like the House Of Black has had a very strange relationship all through AEW while they’ve worked there. It’s been very off and on, right? Him showing back up in WWE, that’s certainly not out of the realm of possibility," he said.
Matt and Malakai didn't work together during their respective times in AEW, but have teamed on an episode of WWE SmackDown in December 2019.
Elsewhere during the podcast, Hardy commented on the WWE-TNA Wrestling partnership. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
