Matt Hardy: Not Every Decision Is Perfect, But Chris Jericho Always Tries To Do What's Best For AEW

Matt Hardy comments on the occasional negative fan perception of Chris Jericho's booking in AEW.

Chris Jericho was one of the most important initial signings during the launch of All Elite Wrestling in 2019. He has only ever had one championship run with the company, that being his run as the inaugural AEW World Champion, but he continues to remain a fixture near the top of every AEW card.

On the latest episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Chris Jericho was the subject of the show, with Matt Hardy and Jon Alba breaking down the many layers of Jericho's career. Speaking about the section of fans that believe that Chris Jericho's rivalries and stories in AEW can be self-serving, Hardy said he doesn't agree with that mindset, feeling that Jericho always does what's best for the overall promotion, or at least tries to.

"I don't agree with it. I think Chris always tries to do what's best, maybe not every single decision that's made is perfect, but I think Chris is trying to do what is in the best interest of AEW as a whole," said Hardy. "When you talk about timelines, and you talk about social media, it's always going to be full of varying opinions. Even if you went out there and you were the perfect saint in every single way, there's always going to be someone that's going to criticize you about something. I think Chris is trying to do what's best for business."

Up next for Chris Jericho will be a Street Fight on the November 15 AEW Dynamite that will see him team with Kota Ibushi, Kenny Omega, and "No More BS" Paul Wight. Then, he will team with Kenny Omega against the Young Bucks at AEW Full Gear 2023. Learn more about that match here.
