Matt Hardy says the Young Bucks are better than The Hardy Boyz or The New Day and that Kenny Omega is the best representative of any professional wrestling company in the world today.
Nobody is better at putting on an act than Matt Hardy. Whether it's V1, Broken Matt, or Big Money Matt, Matt Hardy always knows when it's time to play to a crowd and exactly how to appeal to any group.
However, Matt Hardy is also an honest man as he displayed in a skit on the most recent Being The Elite.
Late in the episode, Matt confronted Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks complaining that he has a loss to Christian Cage on his record because he hadn't slept for 72 hours because of the birth of his first daughter, Ever “Eevee” Hardy.
This would transition to Matt thanking The Young Bucks for helping him get the better of Christian Cage weeks ago. Matt would go so far as to say that he considers the Young Bucks to be the best tag team in the world and even took a jab at WWE naming The New Day the best tag team in WWE history.
“I just wanted to say that for the longest time, The Hardy Boyz were the greatest tag team of all time, by far, the best tag team in the history of the industry. The most innovative, the most creative, but the Young Bucks, you have officially surpassed The Hardyz as number one. You are future Hall of Famers,” said Matt Hardy. “ You're way better than The Hardyz. More dominant than myself and my brother.”
He continued, “The New Day at number one? That's just a WWE mark list. they have to put someone that is employed there. It should have been the Young Bucks because you guys are the greatest of all time, better than The Hardyz. The Hardyz are now number two. I love everything The Elite is doing.”
Matt then turned his attention to Kenny Omega, saying that he is better than Roman Reigns, Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, and especially Seth Rollins.
“Kenny, you've been killing it. Week in and week out, you are the greatest World's Champion going today. I mean, Kenny, you are a better representative of a pro wrestling company than Roman Reigns, Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton.”
Matt would forget to mention Seth Rollins but then add his name with minimal coaching from the EVPs that were watching him shower praise upon them. The segment ended with Matt Hardy saying that he “stands with Kenny Omega.”
The record still reflects that he lost to Christian Cage.
