Kevin Owens And Sami Zayn Come Face-To-Face On WWE Raw

WWE Raw (1/20//25)

  • Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre
  • Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai & IYO SKY) vs. Pure Fusion Collective (Any pairing of Shayna Baszler, Zoey Stark, & Sonya Deville)
  • New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston) to compete
  • Lyra Valkyria to appear
  • JBL to appear
  • Jey Uso to appear
  • Sami Zayn to appear
  • Bayley vs. Nia Jax
  • Penta in action

WWE Raw (1/20/2025)

- Rhea Ripley was jumped by Nia Jax as she entered the building.

- Jey Uso kicked off the in-arena portion of the show. He hyped up his upcoming WWE World Title match at Saturday Night's Main Event. He gets interrupted by Gunther. Gunther tells Uso that he's a useful idiot, who talks about betting on himself, but just runs to the aid of his friends whenever they need him. Uso says he's proud to be a mascot and that the crowd is his team. His taunts come through about having gotten a chance to headline WrestleMania and not Gunther. They brawl and Uso gets the better of it for the evening.

- Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods run into JBL. JBL gives them a backhanded compliment about Big E having had all the charisma in the group. New Day was hoping that they had finally found an ally. The supposed tag match for this week has turned into a singles match between Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio. JBL will be on commentary.

- Bayley gets interviewed by Cathy Kelley. She confirms that she is back on WWE Raw, and declares for the Royal Rumble. Nia Jax interrupts her and says that she's the one who's going to win the Royal Rumble.

* Rey Mysterio def. Kofi Kingston (w/ Xavier Woods)

- Xavier Woods jumps Mysterio. Cruz, Del Toro, and Joaquin Wilde hit the ring to make the save, but Woods and Kingston take out Wilde.

- Penta debut recap package airs.

- Chad Gable was interviewed by Cathy Kelley. He's flanked by American Made. He says that Dominik Mysterio is going to help him with Penta. Julius Creed and Brutus Creed will be taking aim at War Raiders' World Tag Team Titles. Ivy Nile will be focusing on the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship.

- Sami Zayn comes out and declares for the Royal Rumble. He says he doesn't need to win a World Title but he wants to and dammit he's going to fight for it. Kevin Owens comes out. He's carrying the Winged Eagle Title. Zayn is surprised that Kevin isn't mad at him for teaming up with Roman. Instead, Kevin says he believes Zayn will win the Rumble because he has his back and says they can be the main event of WrestleMania if Sami has his back against Kevin Owens.

- Sheamus cuts a promo on how much WWE Intercontinental Champion will mean to him. Bron Breakker interrupts him and tells him he should just retire before Saturday.

* Nia Jax def. Bayley

- Roxanne Perez was in the crowd but got physical with Bayley so she was ejected from the arena. After Nia won, Rhea Ripley came out to attack her and challenged her to a match at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event.

- A Lyra Valkyria vignette plays as did a recap of Finn Balor vs. Damian Priest.

- Chad Gable and Dominik Mysterio are talking, and Gable is excited to learn the dark art of Lucha Libre. Liv Morgan is still teasing being mad with Dom because he tried to briefly reunite with Ripley.

- Sami Zayn and Seth Rollins have a quick back-and-forth backstage about the Royal Rumble. Karrion Kross is seen watching backstage.

* Penta def. Pete Dunne

- Logan Paul vignette plays. He will be on Raw next week as well as Cody Rhodes. There will also be a World Tag Title Match between War Raiders vs. Judgment Day's Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh.

- CM Punk is interviewed by Jackie Redmond in the crowd about the Royal Rumble. He teases cashing in favors to win the Royal Rumble this year, says Sami Zayn is not on his level, and even mentions wanting to throw Hulk Hogan over the top of the rope and kill Hulkamania.
