New top contender, bro.
Matt Riddle finally got the better of Killian Dain, defeating The Beast of Belfast in a street fight on Wednesday's NXT to earn a future title shot at Adam Cole and the NXT Title. The street fight between Riddle and Dain started on the Sept. 18 episode of NXT, but ended in a no contest as multiple parties got involved. The fight continued on Wednesday with Riddle getting the better of Dain in a battle that spilled all over the arena floor. In the end, Riddle was able to put Dain away with Fujiwara Armbar, forcing the tap out.

After the bout, Cole taunted Riddle with the NXT Title, which turned out to be a mistake as Riddle locked Cole in the Fujiwara Armbar before Undisputed Era made the save. The NXT Championship match between Cole and Riddle is scheduled for the Oct. 2 episode of NXT.
