In a SmackDown New Year's Revolution Digital Exclusive, Michin commented on her loss.

“This was the biggest opportunity of my WWE career so far, and I lost it. But did I? Because now, everybody knows exactly what I can do, and I have more in the tank. So this may be the biggest opportunity of my career this far. There’s gonna be plenty more, and this loss just fueled me. So this will not be the last of Michin, and the year is just beginning. This is the year of Michin," Michin said.

Michin previously earned the title shot by scoring the pin over SKY in the Holiday Havoc Eight-Woman Tag Team Match on the December 22 episode of WWE SmackDown.
