Foley lobbying for Cris Cyborg.
The current UFC Women's Featherweight Champion Cris Cyborg has already made it clear that she wants her next fight to be against the 16-4-0 UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes. Cyborg has been lobbying on social media for the fight to happen as she has even changed her Twitter name to "CyborgVNunes".
This past July Cyborg sent out a tweet noting that she wants Nunes on September 8th at UFC 228 in Dallas and added that she is eager to get back in the octagon seeing as how her last fight was against Yana Kunitskaya at UFC 222 this past March.
Nunes responded to Cyborg and posted a photo of a signing agreement for a bout at UFC 232 in Las Vegas on December 29th of this year.
The two UFC Champions have continued to tease the super-fight but it has yet to be made official. Nunes has not been the only person that Cyborg has been interacting with on Twitter as Cyborg does attempt to keep her name in the WWE hat when she converses with WWE stars on Twitter and during interviews Cyborg never closes the door on a potential career in professional wrestling. Cyborg has also been trading messages with WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley and during a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Foley stated that he has told WWE Chairman Vince McMahon to be on the lookout for Cris Cyborg because he feels that she'd make a great WWE superstar down the line.
“Yeah, yeah. I’ve been trading messages with her the past few nights and I saw she was in New Jersey and so I’m going to be attending a viewing party with Cris Cyborg.” Foley continued after the reporter asked about a potential Ronda Rousey and Cris Cyborg pro wrestling match. “You never know, you never know. I mean I had a meeting with Mr. McMahon and I specifically told him, ‘Keep your eye on this Cyborg/Nunes fight. You know she’s gonna be larger than life and would make a great'… I think she’d make a great WWE superstar down the line but she’ll concentrate first and foremost on this super-fight and I think its gonna be one of the biggest fights in UFC history."
